10 Website must haves

Whether you have chosen to design your website yourself, or have opted for a design agency, there is some key components you must keep in mind. Maintaining a successful website is a key part of your Internet presence, therefore understanding exactly what your website must include is important! We have composed a list of our top ten website must haves to help you understand how to create a successful website.

   1. Contact Form

Contact Forms are a great way to receive more engagement on your website. Instead of providing laid out information, contact forms offer a much quicker way for potential clients to contact you with their queries. A successful contact form should include:

  • First Name & Surname
  • An email address or contact number (or both)
  • A text area (for potential clients to leave enquiries or general comments)

     2. Google Analytics

Google analytics is a great way to view how much traffic your website is receiving. As well as telling you exactly where this traffic is coming from, what pages people are viewing on your site and how long people visit your website for. All of this is simple and free!

Including a blog page on your website is a great way to receive more traffic to your website as well as improving SEO by keeping people on your site for longer. Blogging can also be a great way to gain a more personal relationship with existing and potential clients.

   4. Map

Having a navigation map on your website allows potential clients to easily see where you business is located. This can ensure that you do not lose clients through confusion of location.

    5. Navigation Menu

A simple and efficient navigation menu is an important component to every website. Without a navigation menu, websites can appear unorganised and unprofessional. The navigation menu is there for visitors to clearly see the services your company has to offer! Ensure that your menu is simple, accessible and matches your overall site layout.

   6. High Quality Images

   7. Logo

Brand recognition goes a lot further than just a logo however, for your website is a key element to ensure that you remain recognisable amongst competitors. Your logo should be easily seen on your website without distracting your viewers from important information.

   8. Effective Content

Content, one of the most important parts of your website. The content you provide should be easily accessible and readable (choose a font and colour that is easy to read). Information provided should be straight to the point and interesting, it is important not to ramble! Separate information with headings to ensure that viewers can access the relevant information quickly and easily.

   9. Call To Actions

A call to action is a great way to motivate your audience to take steps into using your services. CTA’s are an important way to direct customers to important places on your website eg:

  • Buy buttons / Add to cart
  • Subscription sign ups
  • Read more
  • Try it now

   10. Responsive
