5 Unique branding trends for 2019

If you are looking to start growing and developing your business further it may be hard to know where to begin. Establishing a professional, reputable brand is one of the most important components to consider! Creating a brand that your consumers can trust is difficult, according to a survey, 54% of consumers don’t trust brands. In order to be successful you must break through this statistic and design a brand that ensures consumers feel like they can trust you. With so much competition out there, making your brand stand out is becoming increasingly difficult, luckily we have 10 unique branding designs to help your brand stand out.
- Shapeshifting Logos
Shapeshifting logos are said to be one of the biggest branding trends of 2019. This year, many businesses are abandoning the never changing logo and instead, optimising their logo on various platforms. This ranges from redesigning logos on mobile as well as creating redesigns of your logo on your brand (eg, creating a more colourful logo for a younger audience). Shapeshifting logos continue to create interest and excitement amongst your brand as well as being able to target a variety of audiences in a more specific manner! When creating shapeshifting logos it is still important to ensure your logo is responsive, contextual and relevant.
Eg – Disney has a variety of logos depending on the size of each platform.

2. Vintage Inspired Branding
In 2019, it is likely that we will see vintage, traditional branding designs resurface. Vintage designs tend to be simplistic with neutral colours and hand-drawn illustrations. Vintage inspired branding tends to create a well-established relationship with brand and consumers due to its timeless style, creating the illusion that the brand has been around for many years and makes the consumer feel as though they have known your brand much longer, this builds up trust much faster!
Eg, Jack Daniels have always used vintage branding to create trust in their brand.
3. Pixel Art
The opposite of vintage branding is pixel art. Pixel art is a more futuristic take on branding, it combines nostalgia for 80s video games as well as creating a more futuristic impression. Pixel art tends to consist of bright colours with simplistic designs and usually some added, creative detail. Pixel Art creates trust amongst consumers due to feeling nostalgic about the brand as well as seeing a more modern side to the brand. This form of branding is very visual and remains interesting and exciting to look at for consumers.

4. 3D Imagery
Technology has one of the largest influences on branding, this is why companies are opting for modern 3D branding . 3D imagery showcases a more futuristic side to the brand which tends to create interest amongst an audience and blurring the lines between real-life and computer generated visions. Modern 3D imagery also gives the ‘wow factor’, much of your audience is impressed with this new form of imagery and are more likely to remember your branding.
Eg, Apple, Google and Android have taken inspiration from 3D imagery and have redesigned versions of their logo in 3D to ensure their brand remains modern.
5. Minimalism
Minimalist branding has always been a ongoing trend however, it is continuing to evolve further and increase in popularity once again. Minimalist branding consists of negative space with bold typography and neutral colours. Minimalist branding looks clean, modern and gives the impression that your business is straight-forward and honest. With the lack of fancy branding, your business seemingly appears to be more honest as it is not hiding behind a bright, eccentric design. The colours and fonts do all the talking with minimalist branding! It is important to remain mindful that sometimes minimalist branding may create a less welcoming feeling however, using warm, welcoming colours can prevent this drawback.
Eg, Mac Makeup use minimalist branding to create an honest impression amongst consumers and shows that the brand has nothing to hide behind.
